This book's author deep dives in a way that initiates application of worthy thought about how a man and his money can do a world of hurt, while we all stand idly, by while he pushes himself upon the scenes of multiple issues all too often causing irreparable harm and obviscating the opportunities for others to make the needed changes in a far more superior way. People assume these people are spending their own money on these causes, when actually they spend, even waste, other people's' hard earned money by way of investments or taxes that could have done more good through better allocations. All the while gaining riches and illegitimate power. Do we want to continue letting these so called do gooders usurp the will of so many?

We all know it has been quite difficult to keep up with growing expenses. Wages are generally not enough for the majority of people to pay for needs. We continue to hear of "the elites." This book and others generously point to egregious reasons why. One book will not cover all we must learn as to why and how. I suggest this book for it's ample rendering of information we need to know, in order to stop having to guess at many answers. The author's other books do tell more, by filling in gaps.

Excellent book. Quite an eye opener. Just watched Chris Hedges interview the author, Joanna Schwartz. If you want to learn how police have become virtually immune, look no further. If you want to know why it is difficult to hire an attorney to sue the police, look inside. If you want to know why it is that people of color have trouble suing a police officer, this book is frank. Want to know why typically it is only high profile cases that get any more than a small settlement, Joanna Schwartz will explain. This author is thorough in her detailed explanations of what has gone wrong for victims, injured or killed by police, whether civilly or criminally wrong. The list goes on and on...

Any book that details what is going on around the world we try to survive in is worth gleaning from. Especially, books about capitalism, with authors' perspectives on why our economy is so unstable, yet other monetary systems seem much worse. This author offers readers a rounded out look at what it is that different selfish elite are guilty of, in ways beyond our imaginations. Though, once exposed, opens our minds to just how devious they are. Knowing what the problems are is the 1st step to solving the problems.

This book seems very worthy of reading. The US middle class taxes are going to dictators in other counties who are living in riches while they further impoverish the people they overlord over. The World Bank Group, and, the IMF, located in Wash, DC, lend to countries who's leadership do what they say, without asking their people what they want. The Sec. of the Treasury is the US governor, Janet Yellon. Many countries have one governor who serves to control policy over these dictators the WBG and IMF lend middle class tax money to, provided they do what they are told. This is a dastardly set up, that perpetuates poverty in Third World Counties, but not for the leadership. Get to know how we in the USA are unknowingly part of this wicked scheme. Be blessed with knowledge to see how we are being used as cogs.

WORTH OWNING AUDIBLE, KINDLE, AND TANGIBLE COPY Listened to Audible multiple times as drifting off to sleep. I let my mind wander and thing about content and it's applicability. Like setting sleep timer, and ability to replay parts I missed. If you are searching for everything Housing and Houseless to get a handle on what is wrong and what is solution, add this to your book library.

I own this book, I found it's content provided thorough breakdown of each fruit, vegetable and other foods content and quantity of vitamin, minerals, etc. I have purchased 3 different editions over the last couple of decades. I am looking to purchase it again. I sincerely recommend this book, though have not read others, because I was and am satisfied with this book.

Read Matthew Desmond's books, heard on Audible and views numerous interviews. Matthew Desmond is the real author/tenured prof. you want to run the subject of poverty in America by. There is very little he has not thought about subject wise and he wants to see poverty. eradicated. Read how we can all be involved in this vital project. No one needs to be poverty stricken. Amen
