Hey guys, love your show, my wife and I have followed you all ever since you started doing these types of shows. Season 2 episode 10 at Burn Brea NY was another enjoyable segment, I would like to point out something many people overlook when opening up wall sections and removing sheetrock. I am surprised an ex-plumber like yourself would use a hammer to remove sheetrock and immediately walk on the crumbled gypsum on the floor. I’m a retired contractor and that was wrong on several levels, with all due respect, let me explain. First of all you should have used a sheetrock knife and cut the sheetrock and removed it one piece, it would have been easier, quicker, and the associated mess would have been minimal, and if you wanted to, you could have put the piece back in place and taped it up, painted it and left the area un-disturbed. The way you did it created a toxic mess (gypsum contains high levels of silica) that undoubtedly was tracked throughout the house and introduced in the air you all were breathing, and needlessly covering everything with toxic dust. Anyway, I still love you all and will continue to be a loyal fan, perhaps next time you will put a bit more thought into any selective demolition work you encounter. No offense intended.
Sincerely,
Tim Muir
