I noticed most of the comments made by men seemed to blame the girls who were just trying very hard to make the Olympic team. They didn't wait till they were in their 30s to report the abuse. According to the film they reported it almost immediately and no one did anything about it. They wanted the girls to be silent but as soon as one felt compelled to involve people not associated with the team the other girls came forward. Clearly the goal was to protect the association, not the girls. I applaud their courage. It would have embarrassed me at 14 or 15 years old to go public. Maybe they should have a female nurse present when giving young gymnasts medical treatment so this could never happen again. Thought the film was shocking and informative. Simone biles was targeted too and she became famous so it wasn't for any compensation.
