Only started reading (100 pages in) and I'm stunned at the vision of this book. This is the kind of book everyone should be reading. It posits a world where cooperative living and participatory community exists hand in hand with a post-nation and corporate state world that is faced with the challenges of surviving post-peak capitalism. It feels like reading Dune for the first time. The reader draws out threads of understanding and terminology that while at first are strange but become obvious and integral to the future world that exists. What if Aliens were much like us and what if they were our neighbours and offered us the solutions to our problems? And how would Terrans react? Brilliant world building and gripping dialogue.
