This movie was a spot on reenactment of how a rehabilitation is like. This seems like an AA based rehab so I wasn’t surprised when they gave Valium for the withdrawal. Some facilities only do that for the early stages of detox, and it’s normally a lesser version of Valium but that’s what the world knows so that’s what it was. This movie was perfect when it came to what it’s really like struggling and the people you connect with in the shortest time. Rehab romance and forgetting the outside world or getting too comfortable on the inside. That vision he had at the end was powerful and the people there like Roy really exist. And it’s crazy to see someone try to take the reins too early and believe they’re better than others on their 30th day compared to their first day. God bless everyone in recovery bc we need it.
