I started watching with zero expectation because when I heard Flora didn't make the cut, I was already uninterested. I tried to rationalize many things and play devils advocate while watching, however now that I have stepped back, I am SERIOUSLY disappointed. I got over the lack of transformations, however there are somethings that simply left a bad taste. Bloom & Stella are known to have an awesome dynamic and story before Bloom even arrives to Alfea, yet in season 1, Stella is barely part of the group. Don't even get me STARTED on the boy drama. Winx was so progressive in diversity & having the powerful & independent girls theme going on. Sure, the specialists would assist here and there, but all of the boy drama in Fate literally makes me cringe. Cartoon Bloom & Stella would NEVER. Magix was a world literally made of a kids wildest imagination and here in the otherworld, THE ARMY goes on a mission in 1970 jeeps. The use of instagram & the word "mansplain" made me want to throw my TV out of the window. and i *LOVED* when Bloom was about to embark in an intense scene but had to send a text to the girls first. There could have been amazing potential to keep so many elements from the original story and not have it be cheesy as the audience are mainly adults who grown up with the show. I understand it's an adaptation, but I don't want to throw out everything I know from a long lasting series that I've grown up watching.
