I just watched this movie... While I felt that the acting was done well by Mr. Phoenix, I thought the message of the movie was horrible. I personally waited for the movie to, "begin."
The character has a very obvious psychological problem and was clearly not able to properly diagnose society.
The father of Bruce Wayne was portrayed as a sort of power hungry businessman with a sour taste for the "clowns of society."
MY translation of the movie was much like today's society with the stratification of our classes... but this message was not one of positivity and hard work.... It was about today's problems with some of the less ambitious people in life.... rebellious, disrespecting society that is now so commonly resisting the tried and true methods of our nation... Upside-down messages of RESIST and rioting portray a horrible, disfigured society where rebellion rules..... anarchy of common values and respect..
I realize this is only a movie.... but this message was horribly disfigured... and ALAS the movie made me want to leave the theatre in disgust...... because I know that some parts of this society will take away a DIFFERENT message from this film.... fight authority and RESIST!
I simply did not find ANY entertainment value in this farse of a film......
