I was blown away by every performance in this film. An amazing performance by Brendan Fraser. His performance was layered with so much of what made his character who he became and what was behind so many uncomfortable moments as well as how his surpressed sensitivities surface from time to time and appear to be his frail armor. Brendan Fraser gave us a convincing performance, not an imitation of an obese man. He clearly understood this man. His co-stars were outstanding. The story gave us opportunities to see how these individuals unfold as they deal with Fraser's tragedy and revealing of their own. The fact that this entire movie takes place in his apartment contributes to our understanding of how it must feel to be confined to one place and a body that defies the person who occupies it. The "square" format (aspect} of the film works well to add to the feeling of being confined. Be preparted to be uncomfortable, angry, compassionate, and enlightened as you leave the theater with a tear in your eye and a lump in your throat,
