I wish I could give a negative 5 stars . This is the worst book I've ever read . The evil of the hockey culture and the coaches and parents who are responsible is the only redeeming message . The narcissist mother who knew how dangerous the father was and did nothing to save her sons . The murderer cut the oldest son's hair and put him in a dress for hockey practice, no one did anything . The mother justified her behavior during the book through rambling disjointed, repetitive pages while portraying herself as a victim. She never took any responsibility for taunting the abuser . The writer and pretend therapist exploited her to come across as a counselor, why she even has a job is beyond belief . She violated every professional standard that exists to protect patients . This book is an atrocity. Don't waste the time . I was sent it but couldn't even think of anyone to give it to . Binned it .

One of the best books I've ever read , well worth the length. Wished it was longer . Every paragraph was riveting. Looking forward to The Little Friend. Recommend the Secret History as well .
