Jane is Haunted by the spirit of her Aunt Emily, who died at age 12. Jane and her Aunt Louisa are spending the Summer with Jane's Grandmother, Mrs. Canfield, the mother of the girl who died. Strange events begin to occur. Louisa becomes acquainted with Adam, a young doctor who knew Emily when they were both children. Now it seems that Emily, whose face Jane sees in the reflecting ball in the Garden, wants to prevent a possible romance between Louisa and Adam, and to take possession of 9 year old Jane ! 🌷🍀🌷

This is a delightful story, sad and tragic on the one hand, but displays the courage and optimism of a boy who has been deprived of nearly everything. A cloak which allows him to sail all over the world is his key to wonder and discovery. He is goodness, victimized by villainy, but sure to triumph eventually. 🌷 A fifth grade teacher read this aloud to our class, and I was deeply moved by it. 🌳

This is a great book, very intriguing and hard to put down. The characters of Lynn and Mouse are well profiled, and the suspense builds as the girls uncover one alarming detail after another, as they search for the truth about Mrs. Tuggle, whom they suspect is a witch, and about Lynn's sister, Judith, whom they think is learning about Witchcraft from Mrs. Tuggle. Is it all just imagination? Is there enough evidence to prove their suspicions? ☕🍷🍸🍜 Pour yourself a favorite beverage, or dish out a bowl of something tasty, or something to nibble while you read this exciting book. 😊
