I went earlier in the week with my daughter. We were confused by some aspects -- in Act 1. We had not seen the film and wondered if an assumption had been made that audience members would have seen the film. We looked up film facts during the intermission. The screen for the documentary was clever I thought. It was like watching a musical play and then looking up and getting a bit more (a close-up of a face, an actor to the side of the stage). I loved the corridor scenes and coming into the theatre. The innovation was commendable. I found it ironic that the main character was not happy with her part in the play; Sheridan Smith must have felt something similar. It needs some honest reworking by the director to make things clearer to really shine as a memorable show. There was some great acting all round. Most songs were not stirring or memorable -- and I love Rufus Wainright normally.
