It physically hurt me to watch this movie. I guess I could have found some enjoyable parts if the protagonist's jerkish behaviour towards the delivery man hadn't made me instantly hate. The biggest disappointment would definitely be that she did not die a slow, painful death.
If I were to go into details as to why the movie felt like torture and not enjoyment, then I'd have to start with the scene where some random dude was playing with ouija. It was hilariously bad. It was bland and extremely boring. Anti-climatic, is I'm being kind. Replace that scene with some monologue about his relation with the ghost and I'd still have liked it.
Then there is the protagonist. Oh, how I utterly despise her. She was a forced icon of feminism and they tried to make her all 'cool and edgy' by making her flip off a poor pizza man who was just doing his duty. Then they added the entire 'abusive ex-boyfriend' bullcrap to get her some pity points that I definitely didn't care about.
I could write my own novel on how the characters were despicable and unintentionally hilarious but that would be wasting too much of time. Instead, I'll just say that I'm kind of convinced that this movie is possibly a parody of actual horror tropes instead of being something people have worked hard on.
If not, then oh boy. I feel sorry for the audience.
