Predictable story line, over stereotypical depiction of gay characters, unemotive acting and just generally poorly written.
It seems the writers liked to incorporate several, “oh just by the way,” moments of attempting to portray back story. I guess the expression, “show, don’t tell” never made an impact on them.
The mother was a good depiction of a typical, ‘cringy’ mum which was somewhat relatable but beside that all the characters felt very flat and lifeless.
It’s always good to see movies centred around LGBT+ characters but it had A LOT of room for improvement
