My expectations were higher than the book delivered. It read more like a skeleton outline for a movie (with lots of details for the set designer). Repetitious description with no gripping plot. Indeed, I’d guessed the outcome when I was about 50 pages in. Because of the lack of psychological detail, I had no feelings pro or con for the main character. It is not a book that, once started, one felt the urge to finish, but more that since one has invested time in it, maybe one should finish it.
