This show is ahead of most TV shows/films when it comes to representation, there is a proportional number of people of colour/lgbt+ rather than the 'token' person. Its very rare to see realistic representation like this let alone have the story delve into it. All shows these days should be like this. It also completely normalises interracial relationships and lgbt+ families. In terms of the the storyline, each episode will often start with a comedic scene and have hints of comedy all the way through, but the underlying plot will be highlighting real world issues such as abortion/pro lifers, ptsd, anxiety, bullying, homophobia (just off the top of my head). I feel as though almost ALL teenagers will enjoy and relate to this show (and anyone who has ever been a teenager) 10/10
