A courageous episode in the action of a US Army Battalion when fighting in the Argonne during WWI. What does seem to be the usual in American war movies is the self praise in the dialogue, how the Germans are astounded by the courage of the Americans as though the Allies had rarely shown such aggressive courage. It is a touchy subject as the Allies had been fighting the war for nearly four years before the arrival and actions of the US Forces towards the end of the war, and had suffered horrendous losses. Apart from the usual flag waving, the movie is well done and very realistic and definitely one of the better American war movies. It is worth viewing. For the time the US served in WWI, they suffered heavy casualties and did show a courageous recklessness.

CGI and storyline were good, but no surprises as last 20 minutes turns teary and something of a sob fest. Macho woman thing all done to death with Sigourney weaver having produced the best example of this characterization so Jennifer really falls flat. Storyline borrows a lot from other sci-fi themes. Looks good, nothing more.

Brilliant story line and acting that does not disappoint.

Classic monster movie and a firm favourite. Much more enjoyable than the gore filled remakes in that it does not rely on shock value but lets the story grab you.

Never fails to move me.. yes, old fashioned and of a generation long past, but it speaks of values and human nature we long to regain... it has a place in the classics that will give hope in a world where it is sorely needed...

Very impressive and moving . This movie underlines growing tensions with China in the world today. Its more a story of a people struggling to save their culture and way of life. Its relevant today as the World stands by, with Politicians unwilling to confront a Superpower over its Human Rights abuse. As a movie, it has much to offer with stunning Visuals and human interest without being overtly dramatic.

The premise for the movie is great, but turned me off by the sleaze of Santa and his sexual exploits.... could have been a great pic..

Seeing these three great actors haming it up is enough to see the movie. Who care about the plot. I enjoyed the movie which has a similar theme to THE PRODUCERS. Certainly not in the same class, but just a hoot, and Robert, Morgan and Tommy look like they are having fun. An unknown gem worth the viewing.

As with movies like K-19 and MORNING DEPARTURE, the story follows the tradegy of Submarine disasters. The story of the KURSK has been told in documentaries and books so the ending holds no surprises. The folly of Politics which overides the lives of those men is the real heartbreak. Well told and lacking any overblown dramatization.

GOOD ACTION MOVIE, SOMEWHAT FLAGWAVING, BUT TRIES TO EXAMINE THE DIFFICULTIES OF THE COUNTRIES POLITICS WITH REGARD TO TRIBES ONGOING INTERSTRIFE VERSUS FIGHTING THE TALIBAN.
