Having rediscovered Star Wars watching it with my children, I’ve particularly enjoyed the movies made in recent years. I took my 3 year old to see the rise of Skywalker and unfortunately it missed the mark for me. He even thought the finale was “a bit silly”. I felt the story line was overly sentimental and tried to fit too much in and therefore lacked logic and depth. It’s a pretty long movie but key scenes still felt rushed. Overall, I was disappointed with the movie and feel the standard of story telling had dropped significantly in this episode.
