Nottingham never looked like it does in this film. Historically its a train crash. The Sherrif of Nottingham has all the power of the monarch (no mention of which King was on the throne). The crusades turned into ramboesque shoot outs with arrows but a nice pastiche on the now not so new version of the Italian job at the end with the Sheriff's dosh. Finally what was an Italian Cardinal doing appointing an English Sheriff. Oh and I have not started on the 1984 Orwellesque clobber. Still enjoyed it though!
