After reading the blurb about the movie of the same name. I decided to
read the book first. Liked and enjoyed it.
Had not read any of Thomas Savage's books before. Will read now as
writing style is great. The subject matter was not popular in the times this
book was written, quite daring of savage to bring it to light. Especially
supposedly based on his own family experiences.
As I find the movie based on a book hardly ever as good, don't plan to
watch it.

I have recently read the book. Liked it very much.
Want to see the movie but a very few movies live up
to my expectations raised by the book..
Will see it anyway and then comment.
