First things first, I loved AC Odyssey. I loved the feel of the game, the movement, the stealth, the combat, and the story had its moments. There were problems with that game though and I appreciate the spots where Valhalla tried to iterate and improve.
Unfortunately, for me (playing on PC) the game has been a buggy mess. There are little things like not knowing where your Eivor is going to jump to which aren't game-breaking and you can work around. Then there are bigger things like loading into a save that locked me inside of a building, movable racks being locked in place (the obstructions around them were already cleared), or the game just hard crashing at points. The worst part is I sometimes can't tell what's bugged out and what's part of the puzzle.
Even if we ignore the bugs though, this felt like a step back. I like the idea of all gear being unique but was frustrated when I had to level up gear I didn't like because I couldn't find anything else. Deeper stealth gameplay with social stealth was nice but the clunky movement ruined the fun of it. Part of the fun of the Cultists in Odyssey was collecting armor, that's gone here.
I'm about 30 hours in now and will probably try and play it through to the finish, more out of obligation than any real fun.
