Reba is an awesome singer. I am a big fan of her talent, both singing and acting. But the plot behind this tv show is enough to make most women cringe.
You have a man who cheated on his wife now living next door to her and their kids, with the woman that he cheated with, and their baby.
He and his new wife are constantly intruding into the home and life of the ex-wife, completely uninvited. He never misses an opportunity to praise his new wife (BJ) and put down his ex-wife (Reba), and the former wife (Reba) does nothing but come back with a crack about the new wife’s lack of intelligence.
And to top it all off, the ex-wife is constantly trying to heal issues between the ex-hubby and his new wife whenever they’re having problems in their marriage! It’s maddening!
On top of that you’ve got the oldest daughter and son-in-law naming her dad and his new wife guardians for their baby girl, instead of the grandmother (Reba), in the event of their pre-mature deaths. Yet another slap in the face to the main character, Reba.
Between the eldest daughter (Cheyenne), her husband (Van), and Brock’s new wife (BJ), stupidity far outweighs comedy in this sitcom.
The only episodes that I enjoy are the ones with Reba’s best friend, Lori Ann (Park Overall). She’s is adorable and hilarious.
JoAnna Garcia-Swisher is a very talented actor. I loved her in Sweet Magnolias and As Luck Would Have It. If I were her I would leave the dumb blonde comedies alone. They are way beneath her!
