First of all, people are comparing it too much to the 1990 movies. Ppl forget that the 1991 also diverted from the original Addams cartoon bc the original cartoon Gomez is quite unattractive & shorter than Morticia. So, I’m not mad Burton casted someone like Guzman’s physique. (Also, possibly could be a slight nod to the Raul Julia (1991 Gomez) bc both him & Guzman are Puerto Rican. Who knows?)) however, I don’t think he’s a skilled enough actor to portray a character like Gomez and his acting fell short. Ortega on the other hand was absolutely fantastic and I believe with out her I wouldn’t have enjoyed the series as much as I did. Some actors were better than others but i was able to look past it bc i found the story line even paced and very entertaining despite its sometimes perdicatble plot & cookie cutter teen drama. The series doesn’t take its self too serious and neither should you. It’s a series meant to be fun, light hearted and an easy bInge. Enjoy it for what it is and now what you hoped it would be.
