A horrible end to a horrible series. How fitting. As a fan of the odyssey, I like that there was a scene in the beginning of Ithaca and the suitors, but why was it in Jason’s POV?? It was so boring, and why did Jason and Piper even get POVs in this book??? WHY DIES RICK KEEP GIVING POVS TO THE BORING CHARACTERS??? Also why didn’t Frank get a POV??? It would have been so interesting to see him talk to his ancestor but nooooo, Rick just had to write about Piper fantasizing about Jason. Piper, do everyone a favor and don’t make friends. She should not have been friends with Annabeth, or anyone! Also Reyna is finally getting some love in this book, yay. I like that her arc was that u don’t have to be strong all the time and ur love love doesn’t define u (too bad TOA ruined it), and I LOVE that her and Nico became friends. I like that Nico finally got a POV too. I live laugh love the Hedge, Nico, and Reyna trio. But Gaia was just stupid. She should have been a villain since mortals were damaging the earth but we are never given a reason for why she’s the main villain or a villain at all! Lazy writing! Also, Rick, WHY DID U ROMANTICIZE SUICIDE???? LEO KILLED HIMSELF JUST TO SAVE A GIRL THAT HE KNEW FOR LESS THAN A MONTH, AND THATS SUPPOSED TO BE ROMANTIC???? WHAT THE HELL??? HOW DID PIPER, WEAK NEXT TO GAIA WHO IS A PRIMORDIAL GODDESS, BEAT HER??? THE VILLAINS IN HEROES OF OLYMPUS ARE WRITTEN SO LAZILY???? WHY DID REYNA GO TO PIPER FOR LOVE ADVICE, PIPER, WHO HATED REYNA FOR NO REASON AT ALL EXCEPT SHE ALMOST HAD A THING WITH JASON???? WHY WERE THE GODS UTTERLY USELESS IN THE ENTIRE SERIES????? WHY DIDNT RICK MAKE REYNA AND OCTAVIAN BESTIES IT WOULDVE BEEN SO COOL AND WOULDVE ADDED MORE EMOTION TO TO THE SERIES SINCE REYNA WOULD HAVE TO FIGHT OCTAVIAN??? gosh damnit this series had SO much potential to be even better than PJO, but it flopped so hard

Yet another boring book. Like I’m glad that Nico is finally becoming a relevant character in this sequel series but that Cupid scene was unnecessary. Why did Rick make Piper and hazel become friends?? Piper waking up Festus and beating Khione made literally NO sense at all. Once again, SHE DOES NOT DESERVE A POV IN THIS BOOK AT ALL! The Tartarus scenes weren’t even that intimidating at all, another controversial opinion. Percabeth isn’t cute, it’s abusive. It’s canonically crush to lovers, MOA confirmed it. Also it’s impossible for Nyx, the gosh damn goddess of night, to be fooled by two uninteresting 17 year-olds. Bob deserved better. I like that Hecate was shown in this book. Hazel and Leo beat Pasiphae wayyy too easily. Also now to a problem: Caleo. Caleo and the whole chapters about Ogygia were some of the worst chapters I have ever read, in ANY book. Like sure the scene where Leo crashes in Ogygia and breaks calypso’s table is funny at first, but then she just bullies him. She makes fun of his appearance and it’s even worse when u remember that Leo grew up in abusive foster homes. And had a biological abusive family member. So Calypso is really just rubbing the salt in the wound. Also it was horribly rushed! Like 4 LEO chapters is not enough for a meet-bully-kiss relationship. Leo should not have made an oath to save Calypso (she should’ve joined the hunters of Artemis instead of Reyna). Also I’m starved of Underworld siblings moments
