The glib tone of this was poorly done. It wasn't smart like The Big Short or The Wolf of Wallstreet, both semi-satirical films that demonstrate the greed and cruelty of capitalism. Hulu's Dopesick is the better show to watch, by far--explaining the legal complexities, real human toll, and pharmaceutical glamor of the opioid epidemic. Another huge miss for Netflix (do their focus group volunteers have any measure of intelligence?).
