Place, time and characters were so authentic. More an empathetic story of how individuals and communities respond under societal and economic stress than a who done it. Kate Winslet was magnificent as Mare as were all the cast. To criticize this great production would be to nit-pic. Obviously Brad Ingelsby's wonderful script was born of experience. Loved it.
