The intention and how the documentary presents its argument were great. What I didn't like, in fact disgusted by it, was the conclusion. SPOILER. At the end the film shows an image of a person coding and the codes leads to complete destruction of AI, more specifically, consumer-attracting algorithm. It shows the three people (who represents the AI) vanishing and "freeing" the target from the system that the three people are operating. This should not be the solution. Did we get rid of religion because it caused so much war? NO. Because religion act as a justification of war not the true motives. In other words, there were so many other factors that played roles in causing the wars. So instead of positioning religion as "evil", we tried to change OUR perception towards religion. As Socrates and Renaissance scholars suggested, we tried to center human as the beginning of everything. we moderated, balanced, self-criticized our way of thoughts rather than eliminating the "root of the problem" because the "root of the problem" also gave us abundance in spirituality. I think the problem is within ourselves, not the algorithm. If the film focus more on critical thinking as a problem-solving solution instead of suggesting to destroy the algorithm, I would have given this film a 5 stars.
