Everything Nintendo about the movie I loved. Everything Hollywood actually detracted from the movie. If they didn’t have half of the Entertainment-Amercian and nihilistic influence, it could easily have been an amazing 5 star movie and a classic. Jack Black did a great job being bowser. Peach was completely lacking of being the graceful badass character she is in the games, but was alright by American standards. Didn’t need the nihilism star insert. Could have done a lot more with Luigi. DK was fun, but cut Seth Rogen out and he would have been amazing. Lots of references, which are cool, but become vanity if they aren’t actually explored in any followup movies. Nintendo has a rich supply of creative fun for any amount of movies. I hope the death-rot of modern-American-entertainment-culture doesn’t keep inhibiting or eventually ruin it. 5 stars for Nintendo and the good parts of Jack Black and the other voice actors. I still don’t like Seth Rogen. -2 stars for nihilism in a kids movie and the missed opportunity for Peach’s character to shine from Nintendo’s original design.
