Director, Steven Spielberg at his best in this movie. This movie may not by the traditional talkie people like to watch all the time but it certainly is a few pages of history with the defining character of American President during that era of civil war.

Some veterans/ army people may like this movie but there is nothing in it for a mature mind. The story line is incoherent at best. War action is mild and doesn't make you sit at the edge of your chair. Wayne did his role remarkably but failed to sufficiently impress the viewer. A 4/10 movie.

This is a superb movie. Although the director couldn't keep his grasp and control over the treatment and it kept slipping away but still it makes its mark on our emotions as we go through it. The lady portrayed a volunteer beautifully. I would give 8/10 marks to this movie.
