Marilyn Young

Love this show. Kathy Bates is her normal incredible self, plus the rest of the cast is amazing. The writing in the first two episodes (which is all that have aired as I write this) is intriguing and well-paced. I’m so glad it’s off to such a strong start and I hope it stays this good. I’m betting Andy Griffith, the original Matlock, would love it.

I was doubtful about this show when they announced it because I always found Georgie and Mandy to be the least interesting characters on “Young Sheldon.” But the premiere episode was even worse than I expected. First, the script was lame. Second, the weird music and annoying laugh track make it even more painful to watch. Third, the acting was amateurish. I’ll never know if the second episode is better because I can’t see myself watching it. I wish I could give the show zero stars.

All of the characters bring something interesting to the show. It takes a couple of episodes to fully understand the flow, including the lead character talking directly to the camera, but it works. The cast is great. It will be interesting to see how the show does without Leslie Jordan.
