The trailers made the movie seem like a fun fantasy movie involving imaginary friends. The actual movie was boring, depressing, and predictable. This isn't a movie meant to entertain 7-10 year olds. The CGI and Character designs were good, but this movie was a chore to sit through.

This is a worse romance than Twilight. Watch this movie with the mindset that it's a genre deconstruction doesn't help either. Cam from Modern Family is better representation than the whole of this movie. It's not like people just don't like this movie because they're "homophobic". This is just a bad movie. The opposites attract angle that they tried going for didn't work because half of the pairing was overly negative, whiney, and cynical with a pretentious personality. In other words the main character who we're supposed to be rooting for way to unlikable and would have been better as a side character.
