This is basically Detective Pikachu with better acting. A fun and energetic nostalgia trip for fans that doubles as a genuinely enjoyable film for anyone even casually familiar with Sonic. If dumpster fires like the Smurfs and the Minions can launch massive franchises, this deserves to as well, because the people behind this film cared a lot about the source material when putting this film together, and it shows.
