If I could I would give 1 1/2 stars but two will suffice just cause of the acting… I just watched it on Disney+ for free when it was available to all streamers and I am so happy I didn’t spend $30+ on this. I’ve watched all the MCU movies and this has to be the worst one so far.
The movie was just so confusing? Usually MCU provides a good storyline for you to understand what’s happening in the movies but there was nothing in here? It was two hours of basically her reuniting with her family. The credits at the beginning was what everyone thought the whole movie was gonna be about. Also the storyline in the pre credits just seemed a bit cliché? Like it looked like an off brand version of Stranger Things. I was hoping that this movie was going to be about how Natasha became Black Widow, not the after math of Civil War. There were so many things missing from the script like:
1. How Nat and her sister were separated
2. What Nat’s life was in the Red Room
3. How Nat escaped the Red Room and the control they put her under
4. Training and behavior
Also it was just going way to fast? Like what??? There was absolutely NO DEFINITION TO ANYTHING! I don’t know if what happened in the comic version of Black Widow and they are basing the events in the movie from the comic, but if they were, it was like you’d have to rely on the comics to give actual detail, unlike the other movies.
I remember a scene in Age of Ultron where Wanda does that hypnosis thing on Nat and she has flashbacks of when she was training in like Russia or something. I got more out of that than the whole movie 😐. It’s easy to tell they had no dedication for this movie, you could tell it was a cheap budget and rushed. Not sure why it took so long to produce when it ended up being this bad, but I wish it was a show. It would be way better to separate the episodes into portions of Nat’s childhood and teen years, ending it with who she became. Hoping Hawkeye is good because Marvel needs a really good save after Widow. Usually I’m not disappointed with Marvel movies but this and the second Spider-Man failed to impress me. Otherwise, acting was good.
