While it has its flaws, and it can't contest with the older paper mario games, Origami King is fun and keeps the player engaged. The combat is far more enjoable than I had suspected and the Boss battle format is arguably even better, but outside battle the game doesn't lack.
Discovering secrets and finding Toads is gunner and more original than the previous two games, the small puns and witty dialogue from the Toads serves as its own reward in most cases. Chests and ? Blocks are better hidden and placed than earlier games and any sort of collectables don't seem absolutely without use.
The game, obviously, isn't perfect, dialogue is slow, weird interactions with Olivia and other NPCs leave you cringing, and there is an enormous amount of hand holding, specifically in the early game. However, most of these faults are to be expected with its demographic, or do not prove much of significance.
