Excellent book about “old stock” Ocean Jasper from the original mines in Madagascar, now (sadly) depleted. The color images in the paperback show the beauty of this rare material, the rarest forms in the high grades. Includes some history, a grading scale based on complexity, and a proposed theory of geo-formation, which I found compelling. Author mentions in the preface that all royalty proceeds are donated to research studies, another good reason to buy the book. The companion website is filled with additional photos and research information. A much needed guide and resource for collectors.
