This is one of the best period pieces I’ve seen in a very long time. The writing is superb so to take a novel and put it on screen...Let’s just say the novel is so very well written but seeing the characters come to life, it is an extraordinary treat for the senses. The show is captivating, full bodied, articulately detailed, raw yet intriguing. It is easy to follow but so full of deceptions, alliances, secrets, and ambition. Everyone’s got their own agenda and it really pulls our (then newborn) history to the forefront and showcases the probable way it really was in the late 1600’s New France. Each one of the cast is perfectly chosen for their roles. The magic is indescribable. MUST SEE!
