It's like 13 Reasons Why meets I May Destroy You. This show touches on topics that need to be talked about! There are no perfect people in this show, like life, which adds to the complexity and nuances of sexual assault, bullying, teenage friendship, and the search for meaning and personal identity. It packs too many topics into one episode, and some stories are developed and paced much better than others. I personally enjoyed the second half of the season better than the first but overall I'm happy with the time spent and excited for another season too watch their stories unfold. Cried more than I had planned.

I agree with a lot of the sentiment outlined in these reviews, both positive and negative. I also love Kauffman films and had high hopes for this one. This film falls short in narrative, with the protagonist Lucy's inner monologue throughout the car ride feeling repetitive and frankly annoying over time. Just really truly difficult to hear. I continued watching because there was enough intrigue to keep me going and I genuinely wanted to understand where the film was going and what I could take away from it, only to have it digress into nothingness and absurdity. Watch it if you're cool with being left with nothing. Or watch it high, maybe it will leave you with something more then.

I love psychological thrillers but it was difficult to watch this level of unraveling with such little payoff. If this movie had a stronger ending that leaned slightly more into the mental health issues it was addressing, it would’ve made the stressful and emotional mind bending more bearable. I agree with others that it keeps you guessing and wanting to know the ending but it didn’t leave me any feeling except happy it was over.
