There's no explaining it. The writers just throw in some miscellaneous, unconnected religious stories and language when they feel like it, or when they can't otherwise explain the plot. It's ridiculous. The show wants to be sci-fi, but then they throw in religion (Judaeo/Christian), then a little Egyptology, then some eastern mysticism, then some pseudo-science, then dream interpretation, ESP, secret military agencies working clandestinely, the works. No cohesive story line at all. It's silly TBH.
When your sci-fi story turns into "God did it", then everything is off. There's no feat that God cannot accomplish or undo, so there's no logic or causal relationship at all. It's just frickin' magic!
I'm very disappointed. Great story line about time travel, and instead we're off on some mythical journey about Noah's ark, which any 8th grade science student knows is hogwash. What's next? Ouja board? Phrenology? Nanobots? Aztec gods? Exorcism? Magic crystals?
I'm wagering the season finale will expose the extra-terrestrials.
