Strong and tight narrative. The movie s treatment of a social issue is on point and sensitive. Madhuri Dixit aces in her performance and the characters of the ensemble cast is very well sketched and played out. Screenplay and direction which for most films back in 90s tended to be a weak point, was actually a strength for this film. It’s unfortunate that the film didn’t do well on box office but one can only assume that’s on account of the subject matter and the fact that it didn’t cater to urban sensibilities. Must watch!
