"Zack Snyder's Justice League" (ZSJL) is an auteur's vision of epic proportions. In fact, it totally wipes out 2017's Frankenstein' Creatureesque "Justice League". In fact, the scenes that made 2017's version bearable were actually the scenes made by Snyder before his departure from production due to his daughter's untimely death.
Zack Snyder once commented where MCU productions focused on bringing out the human frailty of its heroes and heroines, his approach to DCEU was from a mythological perspective, how heroes and heroines with such omnipotence struggle to relate with humankind. And watching ZSJL, Snyder definitely fulfilled his perspective of the heroes of DCEU.
The powers of the heroes are greatly emphasised, but yet they have such human struggles. We see Cyborg having unlimited powers in controlling the Internet, even having the nuclear launch codes. We see the Flash being so afraid of entering the Speed Force, in case he screws up time. We see Aquaman being revered as a legend, but he struggles deeply with rejection from his mother. We see Batman with his immense wealth, but he struggles with his guilt of having Superman killed. Wonder Woman also feels such immense guilt of abandoning her sisters in Themiscyra, despite all her selfless desire of protecting humankind.
This in itself makes the movie fantastic for me, a director who is able to interpret the heroes and heroines of DC from such a unique perspective instead of copying from the MCU.
Zack Snyder, I don't know if you are going to read this, but congratulations on your vision being fulfilled. And congratulations in wiping out "Josstice League".
