do not waste your time - it ruins the original Jack Harlow is a terrible athlete and watching him "play" basketball is beyond cringe worthy... If the writers did not rush to release this for the summer it could have had some potential but no - the whole movie is essentially a series of cliche jokes about racial stereotypes that distracts from the loose plot line about a young man searching for redemption and reconciling his relationship with his father (RIP to Lance Reddick - the only redeeming piece of the movie) Kamal is a totally different take on Wesley Snipes character but since when does punching a fan in a high school bball game ruin your entire life? This was not an Allen Iverson situation, one kid got a bloody nose...Also, how do they end up winning the highest stakes street ball tournament by winning only 2 games...? Anyone else notice that? It also really bothered me that Kamal is signed by the Lakers after a 15 second summary of him playing overseas and making his way to the g league to be called up... They couldnt even get decent cameos - I think the biggest player they got was Blake Griffin? Or I think Tyler Herro was maybe in the very end but you really lose interest by then...
