I have studied the Second World War more than half of my life but on every page of this book I learnt something new, interesting and ultimately astonishing. I have a more profound understanding of the critical part that food played in the war and the consequences for our own time.
It is a page turner, never dry and ever flowing from one eye opening fact to the next with well research confidence. You see the conclusions just as they hit you and only someone with the personality of a stone would not be moved by some of the facts and conclusions.
I can't recommend this book highly enough. It will go straight to my personal reference section.
