I’ve grown up watching Citytv and its newscast. Ever since Rogers purchased Citytv from CHUM it basically took its soul away. Citytv, BT and CityNews was very unique with its personality’s over the years, however ever since Rogers took control they basically fired all of the awesome personalities they had on the show. When they got rid of these people like Gord Martineau, Anne Mroczkowski, Jojo Chintoh, Jennifer Valentyne, Kevin Frankish etc… I slowly stopped watching the network. I completely stopped watching Citytv after they fired Jennifer Valentyne and Gord Martineau from City. Now I see the network as VERY less professional compared to 11 years ago. BT has too many hosts that they keep then fire them after a year or two. They act like grade school kids and don’t take BT very seriously, compared 7 years ago when it was Kevin, Dina, Frank and Jenn. They took the show very professionally, Kevin being the newsman, Frank being on the weather, Dina interviewing celebs and Jenn doing fun stuff in the community. It ‘’was’’ Toronto’s number 1 morning show, and now it’s probably the leased watch morning show in Toronto. The same can be said with CityNews, its newscasts were very professional. But once they got rid of the Anchors and made its “anchorless’’ the news is a horrible mess. Their news is very confusing to watch example one reporter would start the show and throw it to another reporter and throw it back to the same reporter who started the show and they cover 3 other stories on top of the lead story they were covering. It’s a hot mess, someone at Rogers was probably smoking weed and coming up with ideas they can do with the newscasts. So unprofessional!! Will watch when they fix the mess!!
