I first loved the music of Shostakovich when I heard the Romance from The Gadfly and his Jazz Suites. He wrote, I believe, for as many films as the great John Williams, and yet none of this 'popular ' music is mentioned. Is there a reason for this?

I love this programme but yesterday (on a repeat I think) it was said that the only person in this country who used to drive but did not have a driving licence, was H M the Queen. She did have a driving licence issued I think during the War when she was with the ATS and signed by my grandfather!
