After watching it, I realised that it's based on auto-biography. One of Shia's childhood himself. A very real and deep depiction of addiction and abuse and the ways it affects People around, especially children. The contagiousness of it. With such a very talented young star, Noah Jupe and Shia Labeouf playing his father, quite rugged yet beautifully directed by Alma Har'el.
