Winona Ryder plays a heartbroken mother whose younger son has disappeared and is thought dead by everyone but her. Until she is proven right, and then the suspense only increases. Add to this sex and, a budding tomance, and you get a series worth watching

This series makes the potentially boring history of the British royal family an exciting trip into the past.

I generally enjoy reading Jane Austen's novels and watching the movies based on them. But one thing in this film disturbed ma very much: its lack of authenticity. Yes, the costumes fit the period. Yes, the pastimes enjoyed by the country nobility were realistic. The acting was also good. But how many black African and brown Asiatic nobles were there in England at the beginning of the 19th century? None, I should think. This craze for affirmative action in the movies sometimes goes too far. It's no different from Shakespeare's Othello being played over the centuries by a white man, instead of a brown Moghrabi or a black sub-Saharan African (the two prevailing opinions over Othello's appearance).

My only quarrel with the series is the multiple errors made in preventing Kewish tradition.. For example,in Yanki's house, during mourning, the mirrors should have been covered. The series, though a comedy, rings authentic when I think of the political and economic system here in Israel.
