Neutral review: You definitely see the time and preparation WIT studio took into animating this movie. Music produced by Hiroyuki Sawano is amazing as always. There are definitely more visuals than there are talking in this film, but the cinematography and music makes up for it. Sit back and enjoy a visual art experience. Honest review: It was trully a great animation. The concept was great but the storyline and execution was lacking. The character development was rushed as well as the relationships. Because of that you couldn't really empathize with the characters. That was the only bummer part. The movie itself was almost like a long MV of Sawano's music with the dialogs of the characters being more of an interlude. Wit studio really did flex their animation though. It was pretty God tier. If the screen play had been more structured and concrete, I think it could have been as good as Your Name and Weathering with You. You'd definitely still enjoy the movie though.
