Dreams From My Father, This memoir is a True reflection of so many people who have lived their childhood lacking a Father figure in their lives until they become men. This memoir resonates with the question of Self Identity in the sense that as some young people lacking a father figure in their lives struggle with guidance, Love, protection e.t.c as they transcend their childhood into adulthood hence it turns out they make some Mistakes in determining how their lives become. But Kudos to Barack Obama who has proven that even without a Father Figure he had a spirit and a sense of Self Determination of shaping his life not only was inquisitive about what an American Society meant to a black man but he was luck that he had his caring and loving Mother and Grand Parents. I think young people can inculcate the values and beliefs of Self Realization and let their dreams be achieved; to those who neither have A Father nor Mother nor Anybody to look up to am saying Let’s not burnout the spirit of Self Identity and become who we want to be for a better society.
