Considering this is my 1st cricket game since Codemasters done the 2009 Ashes series Cricket 22 is a decent game for those who love the sport
3 Good things about the game?
1) Batting is pretty solid all round regardless of your skill level timing is key and choosing vital shot selection will make or break your match.
2) Ball physics seem pretty good when bowling as I remember the 2009 Ashes game you could spin so wide it would literally spin back and actually take a wicket even on hard difficulty. Pleased to say that Cricket 22 has genuine ball physics that you'd expect
3) Team and modes. There are so many teams and modes you could pick you won't really be getting bored very quick of playing the same sort of modes over and over
3 bad things about the game?
1) Commentary. This got repetitive fast within the 1st 2-3 days of me playing with the likes Michael Atherton and David Gower will constantly repeat the main lines over and over with nothing new coming up.
2) Fielding. Shame to say and this is pretty bad but there are fielding glitches in this game while some of it is just badly done. When playing a defensive shot sometimes the bowler will make a overly dramatic dive just to claim the ball back and the commentary team doesn't help as it gets classed as "good fielding". To boot I've even played 1 game where I don't know what was happening but 2 overs I had the batsman edge his shot with the wicketkeeper calmly taking it but no wicket was registered and none of the balls were a no ball.
3) Career Mode. Although this is my 1st time playing cricket since Ashes 2009 the player career mode in this game is okay but that's as nice as I can be. You start out wherever you choose playing at the lowest level of cricket with some English based teams such as Basingstoke Havant Bramley to name a few. Although the thought is there there's really no sense of progression as you can quickly find yourself getting a call up from your county for playing a solid few games with international level taking a bit longer. It just doesn't hit the spot but it's a decent attempt.
Overall? Cricket 22 is a decent game for the lovers of the sport. I've personally enjoyed it since this is my 1st game of cricket since 2009. Anyone who rates this as a 5 star review is lying I'm afraid there are issues but there are certainly good things
