Dwarf Fortress is one of those games I come back to every few months. No other game has captivated me for so long, there is so much depth in it procedural generation and the stories that evolve through it. I've been playing it for well over 10 years, and I bet you I'll still be playing it on-and-off in the next 10 years!

Spawned my first character, a real tough dude with high strength, cool bionics, an Assault rifle with tons of ammo. I take about 20 steps out from my starting location and take 200 damage straight to the face by this autonomous tank drone and die instantly. I then watch as the tank drone then proceeds to shoot my lifeless corpse for 10 minutes, throwing my body across the field. 10/10, would spend 15 minutes in character customization again.
