Based on a true story, MAID is a painfully realistic portrayal of life for a single mother struggling with and surmounting the challenges of homelessness, emotional and physical abuse. There are examples of great kindness, poor decision-making and cruelty. The cycles of poverty and chemical abuse are multigenerational. Only the most dedicated or desperate can navigate the maze of paperwork, credentialing and eventual eligibility for assistance. Very, very well done
